Rocio Aquino and Angel Orengo are the wife-and-husband creative team behind THE ORCHID: The Secret Code of Modern Goddesses, a visionary novel born from their shared and individual journeys of self-discovery, healing, and conscious partnership.
Rocio Aquino is a creative entrepreneur, connector, and writer born in Mexico City. With a career spanning media and advertising sales, she has worked with leading Spanish-language and global media companies and participated in business ventures across the restaurant and real estate sectors. Having lived in Mexico City, Miami, Hong Kong, London, and now Los Angeles, Rocio brings a deeply global, culturally attuned perspective to her work. Her greatest gift lies in her ability to build community, nurture ideas, and create spaces where women feel seen, supported, and empowered. A profound period of introspection led Rocio to recognize that the guide she had long sought existed within herself—an awakening that now fuels her devotion to helping women reconnect with their inner wisdom and power.
Angel Orengo, originally from Puerto Rico, is a global media executive, author, and speaker. A graduate of Cornell University, he spent more than 23 years at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where he rose to Executive Vice President of Content Distribution, leading international teams across Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His career took him to key global hubs including Mexico City, Miami, Hong Kong, and London, and to more than 65 countries worldwide. After decades of professional achievement, Angel entered a transformative period of self-inquiry—exploring spiritual psychology, identity, and purpose, and redefining success beyond external accomplishment.
Inspired by their parallel inner work and complementary life paths, Rocio and Angel co-wrote THE ORCHID, weaving personal insight into the story of five women gathered on a transformative retreat. Conceived as a hybrid of fiction and lived practice, the novel is designed not only to be read, but experienced. The retreat at the heart of the story functions as a ritual container—guiding each woman through intentional stages of release, remembrance, and renewal.
As the characters evolve, THE ORCHID reveals the tools that shape their transformation through embodied moments of dialogue, silence, witnessing, reflection, and ritual. Themes of awareness, gratitude, forgiveness, acceptance, intention, and self-love are not presented as abstract ideals, but as lived practices unfolding within relationship and community. As the women transform, the reader is gently invited into self-inquiry—becoming an active participant in the journey rather than a passive observer.
Written in an intimate and contemplative tone, the novel creates space for emotional honesty, stillness, and resonance. While centered on women’s journeys, THE ORCHID speaks to universal longings for belonging, healing, and remembrance, transcending gender and cultural boundaries. Rocio and Angel are also the co-founders of For The Highest Good, LLC, a creative studio devoted to empowering women through storytelling, community, and transformative experiences. The novel serves as the first gateway into a broader ecosystem that includes live and immersive experiences, digital community, speaking engagements, and future multimedia adaptations across theatre, film, and television.
Together, Rocio and Angel continue to walk the path they share—bridging story, ritual, and lived experience—using narrative as a vessel for connection, transformation, and collective remembering.
